Tennis  > General Tennis  > is 6 months ban enough for racist slur ?
July 10, 2009, 04:56 PM
Aussie Brydan Klein got banned for 6 months for calling his South African opponent a "Kaffir" with 2 months being probationary if he attended a racial sensitivity course.
Do you think the ban is sufficient or the ATP should have banned him for longer to set an example ? Tennis has some fantastic ambassadors in Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Pete Sampras, Andre Agaasi, Stefan Edberg, Bjorn Borg etc. It is a fiercely competitive game, but still a gentleman's game and we definitely do not need characters like Brydan tarnishing the sport.
