NFL  > General NFL  > The Colts will make the Super Bowl this year
July 12, 2009, 08:41 AM
This football season will mark the Colts' return to the Super Bowl. They are returning many players who had injuries last year and have some additional help at the running game through their first-round draft pick. The loss of Marvin Harrison will be barely a bump in the road as his production the last two years has been way below what other receivers are capable. Besides, Reggie Wayne has firmly established himself as the go-to # 1 receiver. Donald Brown will provide much needed support for Joseph Addai. Gone is Tony Dungy's feel-good coaching style and that is replaced by Caldwell's no nonsense gritty leadership.

Additionally, winning the division will come easier to the Colts as they make their way to the big game. Look at the losses from the teams in their division. Albert Haynesworth is gone from the Titans, but Vince Young will bring plenty of drama. As for Jacksonville, do they have any wide receivers other than Torry Holt? They also lost Fred Taylor, one of the most under-rated running backs in the league. What happens when Maurice Jones-Drew needs a breather? As for the Houston Texans, Matt Schaub isn't a veritable starter in this league. That will become incredibly apparent as the season progresses.
