Fans sitting in the student section at Notre Dame Stadium bestowed the ultimate dishonor on the Fighting Irish by pelting the players with snowballs during the first quarter of Saturday's stunning loss to Syracuse.

Idiots.

Other than consuming too much alcohol, I'm not sure what would possess a fan to launch any object at a player. This boorish behavior is supposed to happen in Philadelphia, not South Bend.

Losing to one Big East team (Pittsburgh) this season was bad enough. But that was like getting beat by USC compared to being upset by Syracuse with lame-duck coach Greg Robinson.
</intro>

this is typical of your typical ND hater. Moronic, insipid and frightenenly stupid. NBC does not broadcast any college football games OTHER than Notre Dame. So if ND isn't on NBC, you will see NO other college football on NBC. If you really can't stand watching Notre Dame on NBC, why don't you try changing the channel. There are on most weekends at least 30 other football games on television. If you have cable or a sat dish, you can see games on CBS, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, the Big Ten Network, dozens on the Fox Sports Channels, Versus, the MTN channel, ESPNU, CBS PRime or something like that etc etc. But since you are a friggin fat tub of lard moron, you sit there and watch Notre Dame and yell at the TV while stuffing your face full of cheese Whiz, and then spend more time on forums reading about the team you hate and writing posts about the team you hate. Sounds like we have got you hooked.

NBC thanks you, and so does ND and all the advertisers.

And once in a while, instead of an academy, they play BYU. Do you want to nitpick my nose hairs now? Playing a non BCS school is an exception for Notre Dame when you play 9-10 BCS schools a year.

That being said, the way ND treated Willingham, they deserve all the misery they get. They have not been relevant on the BCS scene for awhile now. I hope it stays that way!

        <quoted-text>I'm sorry, Mr. Artis, but I just don't think ND stacks up academically with UF. If you think I'm wrong, prove it. Then again, who cares - this is a college football blog, and I know for a fact that ND can't hold a candle to UF in that respect, so why don't you save you vitriol, it's irrelevant here.If you would like to go pull some academic stats of some sort, I'd be interested in that, but again, they're not really relevant here so don't go crazy with it. I think you'll be surprised at what a quality institution UF really is.</quoted-text>

I hate Notre Dame as much as the next person but Artis' stats bear him out. According to US News' survey of top colleges, ND ranks 18 and UF ranks 49. My alma mater Northwestern (9-3 and going to a sweet bowl) is ranked 12 for academics.

That being said, the way ND treated Willingham, they deserve all the misery they get. They have not been relevant on the BCS scene for awhile now. I hope it stays that way!

Next weekend figures to be really ugly for Notre Dame when Charlie Weis takes his team into the L.A. Coliseum to get trampled by Pete Carroll's Trojans. That loss, coupled with losing to Syracuse, should cost Notre Dame a New Year's Day bowl game.

There is no way the Gator Bowl committee would invite a 6-6 team.
