With only 16 -- yes 16 -- days remaining until the start of the college football season, SIOC is going into heavy preview mode until the season kicks off on Aug. 30. And we’re not alone. Yesterday, SI.com’s college football guru Gennaro Filice counted down the 20 biggest games of the season. Here they are:
20. Notre Dame at Penn State, Sept. 8
19. Miami at Oklahoma, Sept. 8
18. Florida State at Clemson, Sept. 3
17. UCLA at USC, Dec. 1
16. Tennessee at Cal, Sept. 1
15. Boise State at Hawaii, Nov. 23
14. TCU at Texas, Sept. 8
13. LSU at Alabama, Nov. 3
12. Florida State at Virginia Tech, Nov. 10
11. West Virginia at Rutgers, Oct. 27
10. Nebraska at Texas, Oct. 27
9. Tennessee at Florida, Sept. 15
8. USC at Nebraska, Sept. 15
7. Michigan at Wisconsin, Nov. 10
6. USC at Cal, Nov. 10
5. Louisville at West Virginia, Nov. 8
4. Virginia Tech at LSU, Sept. 8
3. Texas vs. Oklahoma, Oct. 6
2. Ohio State at Michigan, Nov. 17
1. Florida at LSU, Oct. 6
We’re really looking forward to the Ohio State-Michigan game because it’s the best rivalry in college football, but the game we have circled is West Virginia at Rutgers. This game will go a long way toward seeing if the Scarlet Knights’ dream season was a one-year wonder, or a sign of things to come. And there’s no better way to test that than against the best QB-RB tandem (Patrick White-Steve Slaton) in the nation. Now we want to hear from you: which game are you most looking forward to?
