It’s hard to believe, but we’re already in Year 13 of the X-Games, the Super Bowl of action sports (along with its cold weather companion, the Winter X-Games). Last year at this time, we debated whether the X-Games are an actual sport or not and the answer was a resounding YES. The competitions require as much mental and physical toughness as any other athletic competition. Trust us, if you don’t think these guys are tough, we suggest you check out the mind-boggling pain threshold of skateboarder Jake Brown, who fell 50 feet on Thursday after failing to land a jump in the Skateboard Big Air, only to get up and walk away five minutes later. It makes Willis Reed look like Carl Pavano.
Brown’s toughness not withstanding, that doesn’t mean we have to like it. In fact, we can’t find the remote control fast enough when we tune to ESPN and see that it’s showing the X-Games. Today, we want to know where you stand on the X-Games – do you like it or hate it?
