At SIOC, we eat, breathe and sleep college sports, and one trend we've noticed is that everyone hates Duke and Notre Dame (maybe not everyone, but about 90% of our audience). Personally, we could care less -- the only school we really hate is Boston College, and that's mostly because we were rejected by numerous BC co-eds during our younger days. But that's neither here nor there. The point is that both schools are universally hated. The questions is: Which one do you hate more?
Our vote is for Notre Dame, simply because the school constantly makes it to BCS bowls in which it has no business playing in. Yes, the Fighting Irish generate a lot of revenue and are in bed with NBC, but still -- how did they make a BCS bowl last year over Auburn and Wisconsin (by the way, Notre Dame was destroyed by LSU in that BCS Bowl, 41-14).
Meanwhile, you can hate Duke all you want, but at least they've earned their spots in the Final Four over the past couple decades without any BCS Committee placing them there.
