But acknowledgement during his time on the mound would be appropriate by just posting his statistics on the jumbotron or most stadiums have a factoid section of their jumbotron which would be appropriate. IE: 'Baseball history fact : did you know Mariano Rivera will the 2nd closer in history to get 500 saves if he closes out the game tonight? ' and then get the fans to root against him accomplishing the feat. IE: 'Lets go Mets, lets stop the Yankees and Mariano !!! '.
