With a rash of QB injuries (Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Matt Hasselbeck, Tarvaris Jackson, etc.) sweeping the NFL, SI.com senior writer Don Banks takes the opportunity to look at every team's Plan B, ranking backup QBs 1 through 32.

A few highlights:

3. Sage Rosenfels, Texans

11. Brad Johnson, Cowboys

31. Dan Orlovsky, Lions

You can find the whole list here.

Agree or disagree with Banks' picks? Let him know in the comments below.

Banks, Your the most biased writer on the net. You suck dude! These rankings are not even close. Why don't you let a real writer like DR, Z do the heavy stuff like rankings and you can do stories about what NFL players eat for breakfast. These type of stories would best fit what your good at. Hey, mabey you can move over to BSPN they are really high on your type of journalism.

Hey Banks, this just in! J Russell now wieghs 375lbs, why don't you run with it JA.

August 26, 2008  01:13 PM ET

Wow, can't believe you knocked Gus Frerotte down because "he looks worse the more he plays." Doesn't that go for everyone on this list? You think TO will be happy w/ Brad Johnson checking down every play (cuz Brad Johnson couldn't throw deep when he was on the SB Bucs, and that was ancient history). And Grossman?!?!? How does he look w/ more playing time. He played himself right out of the starter job, and he had calls for his job dating all the way back to when he started in the SB! You put 3 guys, Henne, Moore and Quinn ahead of Frerotte w/ virtually ZERO experience. And quoting preseason stats means next to nothing. It's not a bad list, I'm not gonna go overboard, but I hoped this would be a little more thought out.

these rankings are bizarre. how in the world are you going to even have rex grossman anywhere close to the top 10? and you have some guy in ratliff who has showed what he can do against 2nd and 3rd stringers in front of actual proven guys? and for god sakes you have guys like lefwhich, chad henne, and david carr in front of alex smith!??! why you wrote this article i will never know but you should do yourself a favor and re write it

August 26, 2008  01:34 PM ET

How can Tyler Thigpen not be ranked #32? Also, how can Rex Grossman be ranked abover Gus Frerotte, Alex Smith, Matt Leinart et al?

August 26, 2008  02:02 PM ET

i live in dc and DESPISE the skins -- youre right about collins

hes the best qb on the team. most talented? not by a longshot

but campbell makes some strange decisions and throws when the pressure gets amped up

beinga skins hater, i say keep collins on the bench...he should be starting for the vikings..they should have gone after him..last year whent he 2 teams played, collins did well and won...jackson was HORRENDOUS...at home!

August 26, 2008  02:05 PM ET

Chad Henne and Brian Brohm are the same player at this point. Why in the world would one be ranked 14 and the other 32?

August 26, 2008  02:05 PM ET

Brad Johnson behind Rex Grossman? HA

Johnson was at least competent enough to win the big one, whereas the woeful Grossman has been one of the big reasons the Bears haven't won the big one. Where's the sense there?

August 26, 2008  02:32 PM ET

So Brett is whiny - the cheeseheads are better off without him ... wow the whole drama diva thing of it bored ya to tears ...boo hoo ... but ...GB has no useful QB's now to play the season and you have them last in your little rank and file ... You missed that this might be an issue in your original spew? You're not really worth reading, are you ...

August 26, 2008  02:59 PM ET

how can Griese be No. 2 when he throws a pick that goes back for a TD every three games?

August 26, 2008  07:23 PM ET

Have you every watch a nfl game or did you just let that monkey do your rankings. How can you have a rookie at 14 and in your on words you say that you don't have enough to judge Kevin Kolb but you rank him 24 have you seen him play. If you want to give reveiws go to the movies leave sports commentating to the reporters who actual go watch the players

August 26, 2008  08:36 PM ET

Hey Banks,
I enjoyed reading your list and rankings. I don't treat football like it's a life or death matter so no big deal if I agree or disagree with all your rankings.

August 26, 2008  09:30 PM ET

how do u have rex grossman ranked tenth, that's ridiculous
and david carr at 25th, i mean come on

August 27, 2008  01:10 AM ET

How can you not have much of a "body of work" on Kevin Kolb, when he threw more passes then any qb in the pre-season last year, and has played in every preseason game to date.

Thats more then most 2nd year backup qbs, no?

How on earth is Kerry Collins ranked at 5? You can sell his experience all you like, the fact remains he's stunk it up whenever he's stepped under center for the Titans.

Trent Green at 7 is about 20 places too high, he's just not got anything left after the concussions, and playing behind that line won't allow him any sort of time to set his feet.

Byron Leftwich is a QB out of his time. He's far too immobile, with far too slow a release, to play in the modern NFL even as a backup.

Chris Redman wants to be higher on the list. A guy with the stats he delivered last year, on what was essentially a broken team, deserves better than 13.

Brunell ought to be a lot higher, I've watched the Saints pre-season and the guy's got enough left in the tank, with enough talent at WR, RB and O line, to do a job if plugged in.

Oh, and one last thing: your positioning of Henne and Brohm. One of them would be playing on a franchise rebuilding off a 1-15 season, with 0 talent at WR or on the O line (Jake Long aside). The other would be playing on a team that just went 13-3, with a ton of talent at WR, a solid O line and a solid running game. Still think Henne ought to be ranked the higher?

Earth to Don Banks.... Seneca Wallace is now a 3rd stringer.

DOH!!!!

Is Pittsburgh number 17 just because Leftwich is in there right now as the back-up? What would their ranking have been if Batch was not currently hurt? Realistically, Batch would push the Steelers into the top 10. He has shown he is that good when Big Ben wasn't able to play. Check his stats and the record in games that Batch has started.

I'm curious as to why you say Sage Rosenfels may not be a guy who can play at a high level for more than four or five games in a row. On what do you base that? As far as I know, he's not been given the chance to play more than that. Did someone tell you this? Are you aware of something physically or mentally wrong that would not permit say six games in a row. please enlighten us. Thank you.
