As Seth Petruzelli prepared to face a man 30 pounds heavier and two inches taller than him in the cage, he was, apparently, under strict orders from EliteXC. The organization, which has been criticized for matching its star Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson with less-than-adequate opponents, apparently told Petruzelli to take it easy on the big guy.

In his first radio interview, Petruzelli said that EliteXC vowed to jump his pay to six figures IF he didn't take down Kimbo.

"The promoters kinda hinted to me and they gave me the money to stand and throw with him, they didn't want me to take him down. Let's just put it that way. It was worth my while to try and stand up punch him."

When Yahoo! spoke with Jared Shaw, the EliteXC veep said he never told Petruzelli to stay standing against Kimbo. And so begs the question: Who gave the orders? Or better yet, is all this even true?

... It's plausible. Not that I agree it's true, but can't you see them trying to "protect their investment"? What's more costly... upping his salary or having Kimbo take a quick, stunning, and decisive TKO loss. Enough said.

basically he saying they gave him a payoff to stand there and get drilled instead of trying to win.thats illegal isnt it.i mean it doesnt sound like they told him to directly take a dive but im sure they were hoping by just standing there kimbo would drop him.either way its still manipulating a fight and again thats illegal.(off in the distance dana white laughs as elite xc starts to crumble)

There goes EliteXC's credibility, if they had any to start with. I'm assuming Seth doesn't plan on fighting for them any longer seeing as how he just dropped a huge dime on them in the national media.
