As MMAJunkie noticed, Affliction (inconspicuously so) revealed Fedor Emelianenko's next opponent.
As posted on the promotion's web site, the WAMMA heavyweight champ will take on Andrei Arlovski at "Day of Reckoning" on Jan. 24.
Among other fighters promoted for the event are Josh Barnett, Matt Lindland, Vitor Belfort, Vladimir Matyushenko, Jay Hieron, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Renato "Babalu" Sobral and Chris Horodecki.
Arlovski (14-5) last defeated IFL champion Roy Nelson at "EliteXC: Heat" on Oct. 4 -- an event co-promoted by Affliction and the recently deceased EliteXC.
Emelianenko (28-1) last beat ex-UFC champion Tim Sylvia by submission at Affliction's debut event last July.
"Day of Reckoning" was originally set for Oct. 11 in Las Vegas, but was later postponed and moved because of a new partnership with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. Or, that's what Affliction claims anyway. As MMAJunkie notes, slow ticket sales may also have played a major part in the postponement. It is believed the Jan. 24 card will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Nice...can't wait to see Arlovski get embarrassed...hopefully he doesn't try to run and hide like he did against Werdum. After he gets submitted or knocked out he can go back to fighting bums like Roy Nelson.

Sorry? Did you watch the fight?
I mean, granted... the fight was uber boring.
But that wasn't necessarily AA's fault. Both fighters weren't taking the initiative, but a unanimous 30-27 victory for the Pitbull shows that he deserved it.

Yeah I watched it, did you? He may have won by connecting on a few more punches (mostly timid punches running away), but Werdum was trying to engage and fight a lot more than Arlovski. I'm not debating who should have won or lost the fight, but the fact is that Arlovski RAN and wanted no part in fighting. He was obviously trying to win a cowardly decision and NOT trying to fight. It's no doubt the reason he wasn't on the main card for the next UFC event he was part of.
Again, like I said, can't wait to see him pummeled.

Yeah, I watched the fight, did you? Arlovski may have connected with more punches (mostly timid punches while running away like a girl), but Werdum tried to actually fight and engage Arlovski. I'm not arguing who should have won or lost the fight, but Arlovski RAN and wanted no part in fighting, which is no doubt the reason why he was not featured on the main card in the next UFC card he was part of.
Like I said, can't wait to see Fedor pummel him.

Yeah, I watched it, did you? Arlovski may have connected with a few more punches (timid punches while running away like a little girl), but Werdum actually tried to make a real fight out of it, which AA obviously wanted no part in. I'm not arguing who won or lost the fight, but Arlovski RAN and was only looking to win a cowardly decision so he could get back on track for a title ****...which is no doubt the reason why he wasn't featured on the main card in his next UFC event. Weak.
Like I said, can't wait to see him get pummeled.
