At the premiere of his movie, Renzo Gracie: Legacy, at the U.S. Film Festival in Philadelphia on Saturday, Renzo Gracie subtly dropped a bomb on MMA fans.
As FiveOuncesOfPain's Sam Caplan reported, the MMA legend said he's contemplating a return to the sport -- as a lightweight.
Gracie, 41, hasn't competed since the now-defunct EliteXC's first MMA event in February 2007 where he defeated Frank Shamrock. (Shamrock was disqualified for illegal knees to the head.) Gracie also coached the New York Pit Bulls in the also-dead International Fight League, and has since turned his attention to running his multiple training facilities in the northeast.
As to when and officially if Gracie returns to the cage is still unknown.
