Winning the WEC featherweight crown wasn't pain free for Mike Brown - literally.
After his first-round TKO victory over Urijah Faber on Wednesday, the new champ was clearly in a lot of discomfort. According to FiveOuncesOfPain.com, Brown tore cartilage in his rib and will be out commission for four to six weeks.
The injury was never brought to light by the fight's announcers, Frank Mir and Todd Harris, because the event was running over schedule. The news came from Brown's manager, Dan Lambert, who also said Brown was taken immediately to the hospital by ambulance after the fight.
