During halftime of last night's Cincinnati-Pittsburgh game, the NFL Network aired a portion of Deion Sanders' interview with Terrell Owens.
The wideout's comments were provocative enough. "I don't like it," said T.O. of his fading role in the Dallas offense. "I don't think it's difficult at all to get me featured."
But even more curious was Owens' choice of attire: a green shirt with an oversized eagle on the front.
You can draw your own conclusions. But it's difficult to avoid the subtext when Owens is firing subtle jabs at his quarterback and the coaches: "When I get my hands on the ball, things happen. I can't throw it and catch it. I can only do one thing. It's not that I can't play, it's the system of which I'm in."
Do you read between the lines when an athlete wears a shirt or hat representing another team? Could T.O.'s choice have possibly been a coincidence?

It's obviously a coincidence. I can't believe this is even a story. It's just an American Eagle t-shirt. Not a Philedelphia Eagles shirt.
And I don't know what you're trying to insinuate even if he WAS wearing a philly shirt. Are you trying to say that this is somewhere he would want to play? Um .. We've been there and done that already.
Or are you saying that he's wearing an eagle shirt to say "remember what i did in philly?"
Either way, those conclusions are absolutely ridiculous.
It's just a damn coincidence.

TO has been quiet. deion baits him into saying critical things of the cowboys. and now TO is the ****? sure, he could have denied the interivew. but this is deion "prime time" "at what level" "100's consequently 1,000,000's" "fornication was my drug" sanders here. he has a lot of pull with the players. just like deion said, the media has been waiting. TO hasn't blown up. so what does the "media" do? they send in an arsonist. i'm not saying TO isn't self absorbed. but the guy has been quiet. oh, it's true.

He could be a DeSoto Eagle fan (Dallas Suburb I grew up in). They have Green Eagles on EVERYTHING to celebrate the high school team, but everybody there is a Cowboy fan too! Come to think of it, that eagle in that pose with WAY TOO MUCH GREEN looks just like shirts we used to wear/sell. You think someone is reading too much into this?

I saw the interview and thought him to be remarkably restrained and level headed.
Despite Sander's attempts to flame the interview TO kept it real.

And the school my dad went to in Junction, TX was the Junction Eagles (same freaking bird pose and similar colors). I think there are a LOT of eagles teams in the USA and almost all use green in their colors. Heck, Junction's newspaper is called "The Junction Eagle". Texas has more eagle-obsession (the animal, not the weak nfl team) than probably any other state and all the eagles teams are some slurry of green and gold colors.

Maybe TO should focus on catching the damn ball when it's thrown to him. If he's dropping the pass half the time, why throw it to him when Witten and Barber can get plenty of reliable offense going.

To "The SI Staff":
I can see why you have an ambiguous title to hide you identity when you write tabloid, drive-by journalism stories like this; but I can't imagine for the life of me why Sports Illustrated hasn't sued you for defamating their name??
The last time I checked, it was a journalist's job to REPORT news, not to manufacture it. So, if you do not have any factual basis for this story then it is irresponsible and potentially liabolous for you to report it.

It is stories like this that stoke the fires and perpetuates the cycle of news that keep these bottom-feeder reporters employed.
