Corgan asked PJ to tour with them and Vedder turned down the offer. He added insult to injury when he stated publicly (98 i belive) that PJ was a better band bc there arnt any dictators in the band such as a Billy Corgan. He went on to talk about how Iha's talents are squashed by Corgans need to dominate every facet of the song writing. Or throw up my hands in disgust. 50 Pearl Jam is the last of a dying bread. They are the last rock band to be hailed by music gods such as dylan, Springsteen, niel young, and pete towsend. They pull of the near impossible feat of being mainstream while maintaing a cult fallowing. Even the gratefull dead didnt due it to PJ's extent. The music can be hard and beatiful at the same time, either way it is always progressive. Vedder's lyrics are even better. They are Loyal to thier fans, always fighting for a cause, and never selling out.
