The players who play in the Super Bowl (especially the losers) usually skip the game anyway, so any player voted in will be excused for the game. If they have bonus clauses they still should get paid even if they don't play because they were named to the Pro Bowl squad. The stadium is a rust bucket and doesn't feed the NFL's thirst for corporate suites. This potential decision is about more money for the NFL coffers. Aside from the weather, Honolulu is really NYC with a beach, really congested and not fun. The only reason to go there is to visit Pearl Harbor once and drive up to the north shore of Oahu. If you want a Hawaiian vacation, then any one of the other islands provides a better impression and vacation. If the league wants a venue that supports players bringing their families, etc., then why not Orlando -- the theme park capital of the world. They could play at the citrus bowl, which is due a makeover in the next few years.
