Many of you guys are seriously showing an extreme level of bias.

Punishing OJ for a crime he was found not guilty of is biased. He went through the court system and many of you just couldn't let go of your animosity, and have been waiting for this moment ever since he was acquitted for the double homicide in California.

Read up on what constitutes kidnapping. Many think its' just like the movie "Dog Day Afternoon" but it could be as simple as blocking the door when a person wants to leave a room.

The sentences, given his age, should of run concurrently and not consecutively regardless of what type of plea deal he was offered.

The sentence was harsh from many perspectives, given that drug dealers and actual murderers get less time for the crap they pull.

So I hope you guys who are rejoicing and see this verdict as vindication jump on the Phil Spector bandwagon or that multi-millionaire who was acquitted of murder charges and is out free as a bird AFTER admitting that he committed the murder and chopped the body into pieces.

QUOTE(#23):Originally posted 04:37 PM ET 12.08 by wtnelson = Big Chief I still don't understand how they came up with the sentence (which is a minimum of 9 years, not 15). It's obviously adding in lost time from the murder trial. Is it unwarranted? No, but it's not right. If they actually looked at this in a vacuum like they should have, the sentence wouldn't be anywhere near what it is.

They don't look at things in a vacuum and that's not what they are suppose to do. judges use discretion toward character when deciding sentences. such as have they done anything to warrant a harsher punishment. hence the three strike laws. so if it's a first time offender then they get off lighter then if they had killed two people and everyone in the world knew it.

Prison may just be a blessing in disguise for Orenthal James Simpson who is still a very fortunate and lucky individual despite all the harm he has caused. His conduct and behavior most recently has made many things very clear to me and even though he got fifteen years he will probably make parole in 6-9 years. I hope that this experience will inspire him to write a real tell-all book about his life however his celebrity status may continue to **** his conscience even through a prison term. Its good that he is off the street who knows what harm he may have done next.

Knowing the Nevada correctional system well, it is highly unlikely that OJ will run the yard in one of the regular prisons. He most likely will be in solitary confinement for a while and then maybe transferred to NNCC in Carson City where they like to send the geriactric population and where no one will pose major threat. Its too bad that he ended his life this way, but its never over till its over. I am a believer in human redemption and feel that it is never too late for people to change. Prison is possibly the best thing that could have happened to Orenthal James Simpson. It may be his last opportunity to set things straight with his life and just maybe the inspiration he needs to finally write a real "confessional" book that he knows he has inside him. Then again he may thrive on his celebrity status in Prison and claim his innocence all the way to the grave which would of course be ashame if he is lying. All in all Orenthal is a very fortunate person considering all the harm he has done and I am glad he did not escape justice on this one. jsj

Issac Brekken/Reuters

The New York Post reports O.J. Simpson could have struck a deal with prosecutors for a three-year prison sentence during his armed robbery trial, but the former gridiron hero and his attorneys turned down numerous plea bargains.

Instead, Simpson will serve a minimum of 15 years behind bars.

Simpson pal Thomas Scotto claimed prosecutors made the golden offer of a sentence as short as three years in prison in the last week of O.J.'s October trial.

"O.J. said to me the prosecution offered him a deal but '[defense lawyer] Yale [Galanter] didn't think it was worth telling me,'" Scotto told The Post, quoting his jailed friend.

"Later I found out it was three years. [Simpson's sister] Carmelita told me."

Galanter confirmed that prosecutors offered several deals during trial, and that he and Simpson rejected them all.

"There were ongoing discussions throughout the case," Galanter said. "Any time there were discussions . . . we immediately brought it to O.J. Everything got conveyed to O.J."

Who do you believe in this one?
