Pacman
Adam "Pacman" Jones believes he might remain a Cowboy.
AP

In an interview with CBS studio host James Brown, Adam "Pacman" Jones sounded confident that he will be playing in the NFL next season. He even hinted it could be with the Cowboys. I’ll believe that when I see Barry Bonds stepping into the batter’s box and getting a standing ovation.

Maybe the Raiders. But the Cowboys?

"I might be back in Dallas,” Jones said via satellite and accompanied by his attorney.

But the Cowboys announced Wednesday they are planning to release Jones on Feb. 8, the first day the transaction can be made. This prompted Brown to ask Pacman if he had any "inkling" that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would be willing to give him another shot.

"Yeah, I do," Pacman said.

Does anybody believe this guy? Does anybody honestly think Jones wants him back?

Pacman also denied an ESPN report in which patrons in an Atlanta strip club said they were the target of an assassination-like plot ordered by Pacman in 2007. This alleged altercation occurred four months after his involvement in a shooting incident in a Las Vegas strip club that resulted in one man being paralyzed and the NFL suspending Pacman for the entire 2007 season.

Jones said he has addressed his problems with alcohol, pointing out he is still involved with AA after participating in a treatment program. Can he stop going to strip clubs?

"I haven’t been in a strip club in, what, two years now, a year in a half, almost three years, whatever it is," Jones said. "I haven't been in a strip club since that incident."

Do you believe him?

If Dr. Drake Remore is physically unable to go, Pacman will be back for another season on this soap.

Of course I believe him once he finally noticed that you are paying for blue balls and get into incidents, he upgraded to private hookers.

Why is that hard to believe?

At least they ditched the "conehead" pic of him ... hopefully his absence from the roster will be a step in the right direction to getting the 'boys more unified. Tank won't be coming back and T.O. is on the bubble... so who knows how next year will look.

January 10, 2009  08:35 PM ET

The next post about Adam Jones that anybody should write about is when a team does sign him. Otherwise there is no reason to post anything about him.

I don't know about Tank and T.O because both of them are liked by Jones.

i dont understand whats so appealing about him?

he had a 4.5 yard return average on punts, and a 22.1 yard return average on kicks, nothin to write home about, 0 interceptions, 3 fr

he had one good year as a punt returner, and we all know in this league that punt returns usually have a 3 year reign and thats it, just ask desmond howard, eddie drummond, dante hall, after a while defenses just lock you down

even if he was a model citizen he wouldnt be a guarantee for me to sign for as much as hes making

and as we all know, pacman jones is nothing close to a model citizen

If Jerry brings him back, I will quit the team.

You're an idiot. Tank has been gone for days.

January 10, 2009  09:36 PM ET

he really sounded like an idiot on CBS, but u snippet i saw of the ESPN story had very little evidence of anything...

January 10, 2009  09:57 PM ET

maybe the afganistan cowboys, not the dallas cowboys

January 10, 2009  10:10 PM ET

Pacman is delusional..Is there really a scenario where Dallas would cut him and then resign him? that's an honest question for someone. maybe i'm missing something.

January 10, 2009  10:30 PM ET

Let's hope so.

January 10, 2009  10:49 PM ET

See? None of this would be happening if he wasn't "bein' rebellion and all". As soon as he burns through his cash he'll be trying to make it rain with food stamps.

Why would any team want him, he can't seem to keep out of trouble.

Because he has talent! He has the talent to play in the NFL. His problem is off the field not one it. If he ever gets his off the field stuff straight he will be back.

If you are going to support the team support them. Sorry but I don't think Jerry Jones is making roster decision based on fans. You might as well quit the team because I'm sure there will be a signing that you don't like.
