A month into the season, and based on expected 2009 performance, not career achievements, SI.com's Cliff Corcoran has compiled his list of major league baseball's top 30 closers. His top five are 1. Joe Nathan, 2. Jonathan Papelbon, 3. Joakim Soria, 4. Mariano Rivera and 5. Francisco Rodriguez. And the bottom five are 26. George Sherrill, 27. Huston Street, 28. Matt Lindstrom, 29. Ryan Franklin and 30. Joel Hanrahan and the Washington Nationals staff.
In addition, SI senior baseball writer Tom Verducci has weighed in with his choices for the top closers of all time. Take a spin through both and weigh in as you see fit.
