GBF (#9) must be a Giant fan. Chill dude there were 8 other players on the field. Hey Manny time to renegotiate the contract say for about a quarter of what you soaked the Dodgers for. Better yet, how about donating the rest of this years pay to research on the prevention and treatment of drug addiction. You may salvage what is left of your sorry reputation.

This is unbelievable. A society values atheletes who break records, who are bigger, faster, and can jump higher than any other athletes in history, above all other things, with multi-million dollar contracts, endorsements and endless praise and adoration, and then questions their methods and wonders how they could "disgrace" their sport. That's a laugh. Throw a rock in any direction, and you'll hit someone responsible for setting up the steroid arms race we have in professional sports. And by the way, it's absolutely hillarious to read articles written by non-professional athletes and worn out sports writers that condemn baseball players for using steroids to get the kind of results that fans and writers love. How about all the writers who made big bucks on the McGwire/Sosa HR run? Don't share any of the blame, huh? Go ahead and crucify Manny to make yourselves feel better, but know that professional athletes who cheated did exactly what we asked them to do -- excel by any means necessary

I couldn't have said it any better myself. It's amazing how the athletes are the only ones taking the fall for all of this. Everyone looked the other way when aging players suddenly packed on 25lbs of muscle and starting hitting 40-50 homers a year. The commissioner, the owners, the managers and especially THE FANS are just as much to blame as the athletes. But as is typical with everyone in this country, its always somebody else's fault.

<quoted-text>if he did it now, he did it before....id like to see the mitchell investigation now get investigated for bias. the fact that a member of the board from the red sawx headed that investigation is still unbelievable to me. textbook definition of a conflict of interest.</quoted-text>

Do you remember who Mr. Mitchell worked for at that time??? Why didn't they go with an outside source??? It's not about sticking it to the redsox or anyone else. It's about being fair. Until MLB decided to do the right thing (which will probably never happen), and say's - 1st time a years suspension without pay, 2nd time your outa' here...everything will continue as is...unfortunately.

The roll call of MLB superstars associated with the use of performance-enhancing drugs continues to grow as Manny Ramirez gets hit today with a 50-game suspension. According to SI.com's Tom Verducci, a source says the substance was not classified as a steroid but was clearly defined as a banned performance-enhancer.

Are you surprised by Ramirez's positive test? And do you buy his excuse that the test result came from treatment he received from a physician for a personal health issue?

With Manny leading the offense, the first-place Dodgers lead the NL West by 6.5 games. How will this affect their playoff chances?
