Imagine that, another overrated "leader" in DC who blames everyone else for mistakes and inabilities. Snyder makes the NFL big money with his business sense, he is trusted and respected by the other owners and he improves the lives of and truely cares about his players. In the toughest division in football, the Redskins, while not yet champions, do compete (how many playoff wins for America's Team lately hmm?) yet he's a "worst"?
Haha, the author is clearly anti-Semitic! Why else would he include Robert Kraft on his 5 best list?!

Dan Snyder hasn't got a clue. He's an arrogant SOB who thinks he can do it better than anyone else. He gives the fans what they want? That's his first mistake. Fans don't know jack about running a football team. The author's assessment that he runs his team like a first-time fantasy football manager is right on point.

I'm so proud to be a Steeler fan, and so happy we have the Rooneys running the show. They're classy to be sure, but above all else, extremely successful. They're responsible for the undisputed best draft in the history of the NFL, (1974, four hall of famers -- Swann, Stallworth, Lambert and Webster) and have proven to be successful both before and after free-agency. Their hiring of Mike Tomlin, an extremely impressive young coach (and their 3rd since 1969) insures the continued success of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quite frankly, these guys don't make mistakes. They have a philosophy and they don't diverge from it.

It's a wonder more people don't imitate the Rooneys. It's a shame that people like Dan Snyder are arrogant enough to believe they can do it better. Sadly, they are mistaken.

I agree with most of the selections but leaving out Charlie and Dick Monfort from the worst five in Major League Baseball is a serious omission. These cheap owners care nothing about baseball or putting a quality product on the field. By a wierd fluke the team played above their heads and surprised all of baseball in the 07 season but that is unlikely to happen again. Anyone that commands more money is quickly gone from this Major League Team with Minor League talent.

The Monfort brothers, owners of the Colorado Rockies deserve to be in the worst five somewhere. They have truley screwed Rockies fans for years. As long as Rockies fans keep paying big league prices for minor league baseball these cheap imposters are happy.

Still nothing to persuade me Mike Brown is worse.

The Fords, love them or hate them, won a playoff game at one point.

Bill Bidwell, love him or hate him, won a playoff game at one point.

Dan Snyder, love him or hate him, won a playoff game at point.

Mike Brown has had 18 years and only made the playoffs ONCE. The team lost that game.

I sometimes wonder if people actually KNOW how bad the Cincinnati Bengals have been since 1991..... .351 people! And do you know how many of the wins came after the team was mathematically eliminated?!

Stop pretending like any other NFL owner has anything on Mike Brown here. They don't.

It's rather obvious to me that William Clay Ford Sr. is not only the worst owner in the NFL, he is the worst owner in the history of professional sports. The Lions' 0-16 record last year cemented that fact. His record during his 45 years of ownership speaks for itself.

SI.com has compiled its list of the best and worst owners in sports: five each from Major League Baseball, the NFL, NBA and NHL.

Our list was determined by a number of factors, including the willingness to spend money to improve the team; the stability and capabilities of the front office and management; the amenities at the team's venue; and the club's culture and interactivity with fans. Of course, weighing heavily in the decision was the team's success or failure on the field.

So who's No. 1? We picked the owners of the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Red Wings. Bottom? We went with the owners of the Baltimore Orioles, Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Agree or disagree? Let us know your thoughts.
