        <body>Bosoxnation85: Bucholtz was 2-9 w/ a 6.75 ERA last year in the bigs. He'll be good but he is inconsistant, like Lester. Bard is solid but needs more seasoning. I'm assuming the dozen prospects was an exageration but clearly the Sox have produced some solid pitchers. Also I'll take Braun over Pedroia. But your worst point was &amp;quot;we won a world series with the guys we brought up&amp;quot;! Let's see Ortiz, Lowell, Beckett, Schilling, Dice K, Varitek, Manny, Pedro, Lowe, Wakefield, Millar and Damon were all drafted by other teams, brought up and then bought by the wealth of the Evil Empire that is the Red Sox. Nice work Theo buying that WS after 100 years of nothing when you had to compete on an even playing field.</body>

        <body>I think this list accurately shows that, despite drafting better than most teams in the majors, many teams fail to have success because other teams who absolutely can't draft to save their lives (Yankees, Cubs) can simply buy them away when they get good enough to play in the majors. Really, look at some of the &amp;quot;steal picks&amp;quot; listed, and then look at where those players are now. Just because one team actually saw some potential in a player doesn't mean they will wind up playing for them later, which is why the baseball draft doesn't mean much in terms of future success.</body>

        <body>How in the hell did the Pirates make it up to the 12th spot? I can't imagine 18 teams that are worse.

I think the fact that Nyjer Morgan is the first player listed under the key current players tells you everything you need to know about the organization and Pirate drafts over the past 10 years.

Also, Bryan Bullington is perhaps the worst first pick in baseball history. Nate McClouth is our steal - the Pirates just traded him for more prospects! Sorry to be so jaded - 17 (soon to be 18) straight losing seasons will do that to a person!</body>

        <body>&amp;quot;Boston should be number one! Yes, the Brewers have many homegrown players on their current roster, but the Red Sox probably have a dozen guys (mostly pitchers) in the minors who would could be playing for most major league teams right now!&amp;quot;

Probably have a &amp;quot;dozen&amp;quot; guys that could be pitching in the majors right now? And they're sticking with dice-k? I think not. A team that wants to win as much as the Sox would be fixing the problem with their pitching if there were guys that were good enough to do it. Bucholz has not proven he can pitch consistently and Masterson is already on the roster as a long reliever, so I ask you - who do you possibly have that is big league ready?

Once again, a red sox homer that doesn't look at the facts before they spout their mouth off about the greatness of their team. You ever think about the ridiculous sums of money that they buy their teams with? if there was a salary cap, those &amp;quot;smart&amp;quot; GMs wouldn't know what to do. they'd be lost.</body>
