Hey footie fans. As I live in San Francisco, I've been serving on Barry Bonds Watch for a couple weeks, which is why it's been slim pickins' on the soccer front.
It's been an interesting time here in the Bay Area, as the soon-to-be Home Run King is just as polarizing here as he is in the rest of the world. There may be 43,000 fans cheering him on at AT&T Park, but he's fairly reviled around these parts too.
In case you're curious, here's what I've been up to in baseball:
With or without Bonds, Giants are simply a bad team (7/25)
Bonds feeling pressure to break record at AT&T Park (7/23)
Tainted image costs Bonds millions in endorsements (7/20)
With contract reportedly settled, Ichiro tees off on NL (7/10)
Hordes in McCovey Cove left Derby disappointed (7/9)
We'll see you back here soon for more soccer stuff. In the next few weeks we'll get the World Power Rankings going again. I'm also lobbying hard to get some phone time with Thierry Henry, and I'll also dig up some new nuggets on the reborn San Jose Earthquakes.
