He's 6-foot-8. He weighs 337 pounds. He wears a size 16 shoe. Every coach in the country would gladly saw off a limb if it would help sign him. Meet Seantrel Henderon, an offensive tackle for Cretin-Derham Hall High in St. Paul, Minn.
For the non-recruitniks, Henderson is Rivals.com's top-ranked prospect in the class of 2010. His offer list reads like the top 25. And here's the scariest part. In this excellent Minneapolis Star-Tribune story with acccompanying video, Henderson's mother says she doesn't think he's done growing.
I met Henderson at the Peach Jam basketball tournament in July 2008. There, I watched him demolish Daniel Orton, a power forward from Oklahoma who will suit up for Kentucky this season. Henderson has said he wouldn't mind playing college basketball. He's certainly athletic enough, but when he sees how much a top-five left tackle can make in the NFL, he may change his mind. According to the Star-Tribune, Henderson plans to take official visits to Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USC.
