This is (allegedly) how Texas A&M yell leaders prepared for Saturday's matchup with Kansas State. Judging by the 59-0 third-quarter deficit and the 62-14 final, it's probably also how the Texas A&M football team prepared for the Wildcats. Sorry, Aggies, that only works at William McKinley High.

And just in case the video is wisely removed, just close your eyes and imagine SNL's Night at the Roxbury guys ditching Haddaway for a song that involves the key phrase "touch my tra-la-la."

........I have no words.

Wow. Just wow. I don't... just no.

Don't ask...........don't tell.......

Big deal. As a longhorn, it would be easy to make fun of them, but really haven't we all rocked out and looked ridiculous in the car before? They're young adults having a good time. So what? The only realy questionable judgement here is that they posted it to the web.

Geez, I hate it when I mistype something, which unfortunately is way too often. Please excuse the typos.

It's good to know that some Aggies have a sense of humour. On the other hand, this isn't really consistent with the macho image they like to project.

October 19, 2009  01:47 PM ET

A&M is approaching the point at which, instead of rebuilding their storied program, it will be easier to just adopt a novelty mascot like the "Banana Slugs" turn their marching band into a comedy attraction like the Rice M.O.B. and strive for something within their reach -- mediocrity.

Sad. Texas needs a good second rivalry after OU.

"Macho Aggie" is kind of an oxymoron.

1) Their football team's recent performance is a much more hilarious Aggie joke than anything else I've ever heard or read........

2) Nebraska's trying to regain credibility and is making some limited progress; Baylor was looking up until Griffin got hurt; Okie Lite has a pretty fair team, and has had one for the past few years; and I think Mangino is well on his way to making Kansas a two-sport school.

Such a masculine group. Thank god they now let women in the Corp. at A&M.

We still need Aggie to be good.

Husker doesn't work because we go two-year stretches without playing them. Same for any other North team.

Baylor doesn't work because a two-year stretch of point spreads under 24 because of one player who gets injured then graduates, sending point spreads back up to 32+ does not make a rivalry.

Okie Lite doesn't work, because you simply cannot generate that much hate for a program that hates OU with an intensity nearly matching your own. They're like the Soviets during WWII. Until the OU program commits suicide in a ditch and douses itself with petrol, OSU is almost an ally.

This is hilarious. Glad these guys have some fun before the games. I question these guys posting this on the web too, but it's funny, and really Andy, are you just digging for something on A&M? A bunch of young guys just having some fun. Take away the "Aggie" part of this, and most would think this is funny. Andy Staples must be a little uptight, or maybe a little jealous of the co-eds these guys are picking up.

And this is good for recruiting . . . HOW? Maybe it's good for recruiting squirrely yell leaders, but certainly not big manly football players.

October 20, 2009  01:18 PM ET

Well, as a former Aggie honors student, (just kidding), i suggest I know who should be the Horns rival......Red Raiders...Duh!! They only cost Texas a National Chamionship last year, and had they switched QB earlier in the year, may have done so again this year. Besides, Leach is a Stoops cronie, and closet OU supporter. We all know after he quickly learned he would not beat them, he threw his game last year in order to derail Texas' in the BCS standings, and pump up his good buddies at OU. Besides, look at him! He even looks like someone from OU!

October 20, 2009  03:00 PM ET

Well, at least the Yell Leaders were attempting to prepare for the game (something the Coach Sherman failed to have the team do).

So where does that leave 1/3 of the Mizzou Tigers roster?

In defense of the A&M Marching Band:

Just because the football team is an embarrassment doesn't mean the band is or should be. I was in the marching band at my alma mater, and while our football team has been a perennial cellar-dweller for years, our marching band has always been quite good. When we would travel to the occasional away game, we would often receive compliments from the opposing teams' surprised fans about how much better the band was than the team.

Bear in mind that cheerleaders, band members, mascots, etc. don't have the option of leaving the stadium early when the game gets ugly, or skipping late season games entirely when the team is having an awful season. Sometimes the only way to deal with the agony of having to stick it out until the end of the game then come back the next week for more of the same is to find a way to laugh about it.
