Further evidence that the conspiracy theorists are wrong about the now-suspended crew that officiated the Florida-Arkansas game. Referee Marc Curles threw the ridiculous flag on Arkansas defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard, and that mistake is weighing heavily on him.
ESPN.com's Mike Fish got a hold of Curles and wrote a fantastic story about an official torn up by the bad call he made. "I saw out of the corner of my eye what I thought was a foul," Curles told Fish. "I can't think something is a foul. I got to know it is. And that was my mistake. And I know better than that. What makes me mad at myself is that I know better than to call something if I didn't see the whole thing. And I've been sick about it ever since, quite frankly."
Curles had a lot more to say. So please, give Fish's story a click. It's an enlightening read.
