<p>Anyone who thought the rebuilding Padres could resurrect their talks with alltime saves leader <strong>Trevor Hoffman </strong>after they rescinded their $4-million offer to him -- are you listening Padres president <strong>Sandy Alderson</strong>? -- should pay attention to what Hoffman's agent, <strong>Jeff Borris</strong>, just told SI.com.</p> <div>"Hell's Bells will ring no more in Petco Park,'' Borris said, referring to the AC/DC song that's played whenever the legendary closer entered a Padres home game.</div> <div>Borris' comment should close out the idea that the sides could still get together. Meanwhile, the Angels could emerge as a possibility for the Anaheim product Hoffman, who has played only for the Padres after 13 initial games with the Marlins in 1993. Hoffman's late father, Ed, often sang the National Anthem at Angels games when Trevor was a child and the family lived near where the team plays in Anaheim. Angels owner <strong>Arte Moreno</strong> recently told AM-830 in Southern California that they were "turning the page'' on <strong>Francisco Rodriguez</strong>, who set the single-season record for saves with 62.</div> <div>Wouldn't it be something if the Angels acquired the alltime saves leader to replace the single season record holder? The Angels also have <strong>Scot Shields</strong> and <strong>Jose Arredondo</strong> and may also consider <strong>Chad Cordero </strong>for their strong bullpen. The Indians, Rangers and Mets are among other teams to be targeting a closer.</div> <div>In any case, Hoffman, who had 30 saves last year and now has 554 for his career, has moved on after the Padres rescinded their one year offer for $4 million for the future Hall of Famer.
