Pedro Martinez is planning to keep pitching, his agent, Fern Cuza, tells SI.com. "He's definitely coming back,'' Cuza said. "He's got all the baggage behind him. He's ready to go get it. It'll be fun to see the old Pedro again.''

According to Cuza, multiple teams already have checked in about the Hall-of-Fame-bound righthander. Cuza, who's in the Dominican now to see Martinez and Moises Alou, another ex-Met, said Pedro isn't ruling out the Mets -- although, they may be more concerned at the moment about filling out the back end of their bullpen and finding a younger starter or two to fit in behind ace Johan Santana.
"I think the Mets are a possibility. They know him better than most,'' Cuza said. "They know the condition he's in. They know about the personal problems that affected him last year. When Pedro's healthy, he's one of the best, and he's healthy.'' Martinez was out four months after an early hamstring injury last season. He also had to deal with the death of his beloved father. He finished the season 5-6 with a 5.61 ERA in 20 starts.

I think Pedro should go to the Nationals they will play easy teams and he can take advandage and win 10 to 15 games. My prodiction 12-7 era 4.22

You are an idiot! Unless you think he could play against his team, he would be playing the only "easy team" in the NL East. Maybe they could count intersquad games toward his stats.

Hey Mike, I think you are breathing too much of the air in that dump known as Staten Island. I don't understand where you are coming from big guy. There is only one "easy team" in the NL East and that would be the Nationals. So unless they are planning on counting intersquad statistics for Pedro if he signs with the Nats, he won't come close to 10 to 15 wins. If he signs with the Nats I predict 5-12 and a 5 plus ERA.

yeah but they should have an easy schedule!!!

Pedro is a beast. Mets sorry bullpen and un-clutch bats cost him many games, why would he want to play for those loosers? Omar Minaya should be banned from baseball he is an idiot. Pedro should go to the cardinals.

Pedro to the Red Sox (unless he is looking for huge contract), grand finale, retire in Sox uniform and retire his #. Adoring fans, MLB top-5 run support and defense (4 gold glove infield, Ellsbury/JD/Bay outfield), and upgraded pen (RRam & Masterson) to close for him. He will do fine. If he gets injured, Sox have depth to cover, and will gladly take whatever he can give.
