Japanese left-hander Koji Mitsui will be posted beginning Thursday, Major League Baseball informed all teams this afternoon. All teams have a chance to bid on the 35-year-old pitcher through the posting system for three business days (the deadline for bids is 5 p.m. next Tuesday). Mitsui is 36-19 with a 4.41 ERA lifetime.
Mitsui's old Seibu Lions teammate, Daisuke Matsuzaka, was awarded to the Boston Red Sox two winters ago through the same system for a record $51 million posting fee.
