This just might be the best winter EVER!!

I think Heyman is trying to get a bunch of hits on his blog, that's all. Well it worked on me. But I still don't believe it. Maybe it was Hal or Scott whispering things in Heymans ear just to get the Sox or Nats up a little more.

No Shock at all that Tex will sing with the Yankees. The pinstripes are embarrassed by missing the playoffs last season and they're opening their new palace next spring. They HAD to do this.

In my view, Teixeira is PERHAPS marginally better than Youkilis. And, with Lowell, Papi and Beckett healthy once again, the Red Sox will be in contention as much as the Yankees for divisional, league and World Series titles over the next two seasons.

What are they gonna do with Nick Swisher? Stick him in the OF with Damon, Matsui, Nady, Melky and Gardner? Posada can't catch anymore so he'll be benched or DHing. Maybe if they sign the rest of the free agents available they will blovk everyone else and win a world series.

This puts the Yankees around $267MM in 2009. The Red Sox, Mets and Tigers are around half of that $133-137MM.

They spend and spend and spend instead of promoting within. Just another case of a tyrannical empire with loads of money.

It's a shame too. I thought Teixera would go home and play for the Orioles or Nationals. Really unfortunate.

Now, they have no money for Manny. Manny to LA? Sounds good to me.

Why spend over 400 million on 3 players, when you can get the same production out of three other players that make half a million each?

Because the Yes network is worth well over that 400 Million. In the business world, You have to spend money to make money!

The comment about the large payroll $267 is dumb... They had $88 million come off the books this year.... CC $23, AJ $16.5.. Tex = $22.5 = $66 million... they are STILL under last years number and CC is only getting $14 million this year.. Plus Damon and Matsui $13 million each come off the books next year... They spent money on what they needed pitching and first base !! stop crying about it
