Jeter is slipping offensively, and he's a terrible defensive SS. Gay-Rod is a choke artist. Besides Mariano, the Spankees bullpen is dogshit. Melky "I hit like a 10 year old girl" Cabrera is still your center fielder. Hor-hay Posada is 93 years old. So yeah, congrats on spending $500 mil this year (and doing it while the Spankees are asking the city for MORE tax dollars to fund the stadium...idiots). Tex is a hell of a ballplayer, but he's not worth that kind of money. Nobody is. Hate on Boston all you want, but there's a reason they have 2 rings in the last 4 years. Great farm system, 100 times better than Noo Yawk's. Great defensive team. Excellent starting pitching. Good bullpen. I know you're all excited about Fat Boy and Burnett, but what have either of them done in the playoffs...ever?When the Yankees were at their best and Torre coached them to a few rings, they didn't go out and spend that kind of money.
