The A's are among a few teams looking at free agent shortstop Orlando Cabrera, according to league sources.
The A's previously failed in their efforts to sign free-agent shortstop Rafael Furcal, who rebuffed Oakland's $40-million, four-year bid. Orlando Cabrera can help a team win. He helped the Red Sox in 2004. He can help the A's be a better team. Isn't that all that really matters. It's not like he's some gun toting thug from the NFL.
