Free agent left-hander Randy Wolf is on the verge of a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, SI.com has confirmed.
Wolf's one-year contract is said to be worth about $5 million.
In a rough free-agent market, Wolf has had a very interesting offseason. The Astros briefly had a three-year, $28.5 million offer to Wolf on the table, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reported.
Wolf, a native of Canoga Park, in the Los Angeles Valley, also signed with the Dodgers a couple years ago as a free agent. With Wolf about to be off the market, and Ben Sheets headed for surgery, Braden Looper becomes the top free-agent starter still available.
Wolf's imminent signing with the Dodgers was first reported by MLB.com and Yahoo.com.
