Former superstar Andruw Jones, who's hoping to resurrect his career, has agreed to a contract with the Rangers, SI.com has confirmed. Jones will be paid $500,000 plus $1 million in incentives by Texas. The Rangers view Jones as a reclamation project. But the one thing the longtime standout for the Braves needs now is a swing coach, and well-respected Rangers hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo is seen as the right one for Jones, who hit a dreadful .158 last year with the Dodgers. Jones also struggled in winter ball and joins a fairly crowded Rangers outfield that includes Josh Hamilton, David Murphy, Nelson Cruz and Marlon Byrd, most of whom can play center field. Hamilton, the center fielder last year, is ticketed to move to right field at some point, which could provide Jones with playing time. Jones, 32, was released by the Dodgers over the winter after agreeing to defer $17 million of his $22 million salary. The Yankees, Mets, Phillies and Braves were among those interested in him.
