<quoted-text>PS. If you do your Seattle sports homework, you'll find an NHL championship, NBA championship, two NCAA football championships (1991 being more recent than UGA's 1980 claim), even WNBA, NCAA volleyball and NCAA track championships in the past couple of years (although those are digging deep to count) and countless runner-up finishes from a NCAA basketball championship loss at Seattle U, Superbowl XL loss, NBA Championship loss, etc. But hey, the Braves did win a title in 1995, congrats!</quoted-text>

I stand corrected. Seattle is definitely a great sports town-- maybe even the greatest. I'm not sure what swayed my opinion, but maybe it was realizing what a powerhouse they are in the NCAA track and NCAA volleyball. LMAO!
So yeah, you sound pretty pitiful, citing your long list of runner-ups and near misses, with your lone accolade being a 17-year old UW football title-- unless you really want to count the volleyball and track stuff. For crying out loud, you brought the WNBA into this. Please turn in your man card at the nearest drinking establishment--- NOT starbucks.

I can kind of see what is going on here. The Seattle fans are all kind of heart broken that Griffey did not choose them kind of like the Braves fans are hurt that Smoltzie didn't choose us and went to *gasp* the Red Sox.

I think both of us will feel a lot better when, 20 games into the season, they are both on the DL. Even though it will suck a little bit more for Braves fans since Griffey is now on our team.

I really do want to see both of them do well and I don't care how much Frank Wren tries to justify not offering Smoltz a couple more million to keep him, that one will always sting.

Pujols is the slugger with the most class in baseball today. Griffey is a great player but he will not put the Braves into the playoffs. In most cases I would say he would sell tickets but the Braves are one of the worst at filling seats as stated earlier, even when they were good. I do not consider Atlanta a great sports town when it comes to fans. Sorry gotta love St. Louis!

Finally somebody just got it., You just gave us the reason why Omar Minaya and the New York Mets are not going after Manny Ramirez., yes that is the answer., Delgado will be gone in 1 more season and Pujols will end up going to the Mets.
Is not Pujols also from Domenican Republic as Omar Minaya or what Baseball is staring to know., is not Pujols another "Minaya??s kid"

I guess i Should be afraid of your cross country team but someone would have to watch the sport first.

I don't get it man, you diss the Mariners and gave props to the Braves (but not the Orioles? what's the deal with not claiming your closest geographical team), have to go across the Potomac for your NBA and NFL teams, and claim VaTech is better than UW, yet **** Tech has no NCAA championships. Hmm, interesting.

Another reason UW is better than VaTech - students don't go crazy and shoot up the school at UW. Probably because they can walk through the gym and Husky Stadium and see trophies.

Ken Griffey Jr. is telling friends he will choose the Braves over the Mariners, sources said.

Griffey's decision has come down to Atlanta or Seattle, where he spent his first 11 major league seasons. The 39-year-old has been favoring the Braves for family reasons, as his permanent home is located in Orlando, Fla.

The 13-time All-Star was hampered by a knee injury last season and hit just .249 with 18 homers and 71 RBIs for the Reds and White Sox.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported earlier on Tuesday that Griffey and the Braves are very close to making an official agreement.
