Kelly Johnson and the Braves have agreed on a $2.825 million contract for 2009, avoiding arbitration by settling at the midpoint, SI.com has learned. Johnson had requested $3.3 million in arbitration while the clubs submitted a figure of $2.35 million.
The 26-year-old second baseman hit a career-high .287 last season with 12 home runs, 69 RBIs and 86 runs.
