        <body>cabrera has always been solid. he's proven to be the better of the SS from Columbia(renteria being the other) in the long run. solid glove, decent bat, runs the bases well. just don't understand why he hasn't been able to stick with a team.</body>

        <body>It looks like the A's are going to have a decent team this year.  It's been strange watching them field teams of guys who never quite lived up to the hype that they entered the league with.  Billy Beane is on the move!</body>

        <body>He has a good glove and hits  well, why has he moved around so often? I would think he would be a keeper. He didn't have a good scretch with the Sox. Maybe he fares better in small markets.</body>

  <body>&lt;p&gt;Free agent shortstop &lt;strong&gt;Orlando Cabrera&lt;/strong&gt; has agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract with the Oakland A's, SI.com has confirmed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cabrera hit .281 with 57 RBIs and 93 runs in 161 games last season for the White Sox.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This has been an active offseason for the Athletics, who traded for &lt;strong&gt;Matt Holliday&lt;/strong&gt; and brought back &lt;strong&gt;Jason Giambi&lt;/strong&gt; with a one-year deal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oakland will be the fifth team Cabrera has played for during his 11-year career. He's a .274 career hitter and has won two Gold Gloves.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yahoo! Sports first reported the agreement.&lt;/p&gt;</body>
