The Style Archive -- the definitive museum of college hoops style -- is back for its third season. We already have 107 exhibits on display from the past two seasons, and will be unveiling new batches on a regular basis here In The Paint. The first five exhibits from '08-09 are here. The latest six are a tribute to the University of Kentucky's new horse-checkered jerseys, and a few other elements of Wildcat style:

6. Special K Kentucky Wildcats Classification: Memorial Spotted: All season long Notes: Two signatures of the 'Cats new duds honor late equipment manager Bill Keightley, who worked in the program for 48 years before passing away this year. The outlined "K" in Kentucky is the most visible tribute. |

7. Mr. Wildcat Kentucky Wildcats Classification: Memorial Spotted: All season long Notes: Keightley is further memorialized by this right-shoulder stripe, which features his nickname. He also has his jersey retired in Rupp Arena, which officially makes him the most famous equipment manager of all-time. |

8. Black Cats Kentucky Wildcats Classification: Memorial Spotted: Dec. 7 vs. Mississippi Valley State Notes: UK used Sunday's win over MVSU to make its biggest tribute of all to Keightley, wearing all-black jerseys and shorts. This was a one-time deal, and UK is selling the jerseys to raise money for a managers' scholarship fund. |

Briefro Patrick Patterson, 6-9 forward, Soph., Kentucky Classification: Aborted afro experiment Spotted: Nov. 18 vs. UNC / Dec. 3 vs. Lamar Notes: Patterson began his sophomore season sporting a throwback 'fro -- a nice look for him, we must say -- but ditched it following the 'Cats' losses to VMI and UNC. As everyone knows, you can't play hard with big hair. |

Smurfette Kicks Ramon Harris, 6-7 forward, Jr., Kentucky Classification: Blue overload Spotted: Nov. 18 vs. UNC Notes: Harris (who is presently being held out of practice due to a scary collision in the Lamar game) made a big blue fashion statement with this footwear-and-hosiery combo, usually seen only on the female species of Smurf. |

Championship Checkerboard Kentucky Wildcats Classification: Bragging via waistband Spotted: All season long Notes: In case you weren't aware UK had won seven national titles, their waistbands have checkers with the years emblazoned on them. The eighth, empty box is for the next 'chip, which ain't happening this year. |
