Aaron Hill should win the gold glove this year....he won't. What a year .286, 36HR, 108RBI and gold glove defense...as a SECOND BASEMEN! Too bad for him that he goes unnoticed in Toronto. But more importantly, great for TO fans!

Defensively, Pujols is not even in the same league as Teixeira. Not sure about his arm but his glove could be at 3rd and possibly adequate at SS.

I know i'm opening myself up to alot of anti empire abuse for this but Texiera is a better defensive first baseman than Pujols... Althought they are both excellent defenders

The 2009 Fielding Bible awards are in, and as usual these awards, voted on by a panel including such worthies as Joe Posnanski, Peter Gammons, Rob Neyer and people who break down video for a living, are a lot more credible than the Gold Gloves. If you have any serious doubts about that, just look at who won them:

FIRST BASE—ALBERT PUJOLS, ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
SECOND BASE—AARON HILL, TORONTO BLUE JAYS
THIRD BASE—RYAN ZIMMERMAN, WASHINGTON NATIONALS
SHORTSTOP—JACK WILSON, PITTSBURGH PIRATES/SEATTLE MARINERS
LEFT FIELD—CARL CRAWFORD, TAMPA BAY RAYS
CENTER FIELD—FRANKLIN GUTIERREZ, SEATTLE MARINERS
RIGHT FIELD—ICHIRO SUZUKI, SEATTLE MARINERS
CATCHER—YADIER MOLINA, ST. The first is Crawford, who picked up 99 of a possible 100 points in the voting. That's the most in the history of the award. The other is Gutierrez, a spectacular defender who probably deserves to finish in the top 10 in the Most Valuable Player award voting even though he's only an adequate hitter.
