The Red Sox appear to be checking out shortstops, including Jack Wilson and possibly even ex-Red Sox Orlando Cabrera, who's also being pursued by the Twins. Nick Green has been slumping after a tremendous start for Boston while Jed Lowrie is getting over an injury.
Cabrera performed superbly as Boston's shortstop in 2004 but was let go because they thought Edgar Renteria would fit better into the clubhouse.
The Red Sox do a terrific job. But one positon they struggle with is shortstop. They have struggled ever since letting Cabrera leave.
