The Phillies are still considering star Indians pitcher Cliff Lee as a potential option in case Roy Halladay falls through.
Halladay is Philadelphia's top target, but league sources suggest the Phillies are still looking at Lee, a viable second choice.
Toronto requested a package of pitchers Kyle Drabek and J.A. Happ and outfield prospect Dominic Brown. But Philly deemed that too steep. Other proposals are believed to have been exchanged, With Philly also possessing prospects like pitcher Carlos Carrasco, outfielder Michael Taylor, catcher Lou Marson and shortstop Jason Donald.
The Indians seek young pitching.
The Phillies remain favored by most for Halladay. But Lee is a real option now. Word is, the Phillies can only do one or the other.
