The Marlins are in serious discussions to try to land Padres closer Heath Bell.
The Padres have been seeking one of two pitching prospects, either Andrew Miller or Sean West.
Florida has won seven of eight games and currently sit two games back in the wild card and six games back in the NL East.
The Yankees also are showing interest in Bell. But right now the Marlins are in good position to make a deal.
