When Monica Seles was attacked by a deranged fan during a match in 1993, it changed not just the tennis world but the entire relationship between athlete and fan. It also altered the course of tennis history -- Seles would fall from her lofty perch atop the sport and Steffi Graf would rise to become the world's dominant player.
