ANAHEIM, Calif. -- I don’t know Marquette senior guard Tommy Brice. He seems like a swell guy from the impression I have, sitting six feet behind him in my spot on press row, but I’m guessing he doesn’t play much. In fact, I’m surprised he’s even wearing a uniform. He has spent much of the first few minutes of the Marquette-Kentucky game sifting through the equipment bag, searching for those mini folding chairs teams use during time outs, as boxing gloves and sneakers fall out. After he finds the chairs, an usher tells him to clean his mess before going back to the bench because someone could trip on it. I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing that’s the first time an usher has ever stopped an active player from returning to the bench during an NCAA tournament game.
