Raiders owner Al Davis raised eyebrows last week when he accused the Patriots of tampering with Randy Moss before acquiring the wide receiver in 2007. The Pats refute the accusation and now the NFL office is stepping in. From the National Football Post:
The NFL League Office has sent Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis a letter informing him that he was in violation of NFL league rules when he falsely accused the New England Patriots of tampering with then Raider wide receiver Randy Moss.

He made an unfounded charge against another team. In the NFL, you aren't allowed to do it. And besides, by Al Davis breaking the 9th commandment, I think he has successfully broken them all.

That's a great point. Where was the rule violation there? Roger Goodell is a clown and would **** backwards for that pill popping piece of trash, Brett Favre, but all of a sudden there is a rule here that needs to be enforced? Goodell you suck and the way the NFL is run sucks pal.

The Packers filed their accusation with the league and then it was disclosed. Grandpa Al spouted off to reporters about the alleged tampering before filing an actual complaint with the NFL.

Wow, crackpot are we? The difference is simple: the Packers *asked the NFL* to investigate whether or not the Vikings tampered with Farve. This subsequently made it to the press. Davis accused the Patriots of tampering IN THE PRESS and never made a formal request to the NFL to investigate.
Kinda like going on TV and accusing your neighbor of a crime, rather than going to the police and reporting it. What do you think would happen to you? Now stop making yourself look like some sort of conspiracy nut... if you must think such absurd things, keep them to yourself.

So Al Davis is in violation for accusing NE of cheating? But they actually do cheat, and have been caught, but the league does nothing. This decision by the NFL has no merit.

Favre is and always will be a piece of scum, no matter what you hoodwinked fools want to believe. Much like your Miami Hurricanes my friend. Goodell would have given his first born to get this me-first, team-second hick back in the league.
That being said, I'm not a fan of Al Davis. It just seems like the NFL would love for him to just go away. He is a PR nightmare and the NFL is all about PR.
