The Buffalo Bills, coming off their first loss of the season, received some good news heading into Sunday's game against the Chargers. From BuffaloBills.com:

Quarterback Trent Edwards and wide receiver Roscoe Parrish both said they are a “go” for Sunday’s home game against the Chargers. ...

Edwards passed his baseline test on Tuesday effectively clearing him to play against the Chargers on Sunday. .... Edwards said he no longer has headaches on the heels of the concussion he suffered on Oct. 5 at Arizona.

Meanwhile Parrish was pleased with the way he performed in his first full participation practice since thumb surgery three weeks ago. ... Parrish has a protective pad covering the outside of his thumb, but said it does not affect the way he normally catches the football.

All the weapons are back in place, now our D won't spend 40 minutes on the field... watch out San Diego.

October 15, 2008  04:42 PM ET

This should be interesting. Good luck - Bills.

October 15, 2008  04:59 PM ET

San Diego's D is going to have a field day with Edwards this week. They are going to blitz him any chance they get. If Cromartie can limit Randy Moss to a few catches and his got full use of both hands, Parrish is not going to be able to catch anything.

evan97223, you're comparing the Patriots led by Matt Cassel playing IN San Diego after two weeks on the road...the Bills are coming off the bye week, healthy and will have the support of a frenzied 12th Man. The Bills O-line has held up well in pass protection and they've had 2 weeks to straighten out their run blocking. Expect to see a heavy dose of Marshawn "The Beast" Lynch to soften up the Chargers defense up and then watch Edwards shred a Chargers defense that is ranked 32nd in the NFL against the pass.

should be a good game this sunday afternoon. but i gotta think the trend of west coast teams travelling to the east coast for an early game will continue ---- bills 31, chargers 21.

When these types of things occur what the NFL's primary P.R. goal is, is to keep the focus off the team and the NFL in general, and put it on the offender. But, what these things (usually) point out is that the true issue lies with the team and how it is run or more specifically, how the OWNER runs the team. In this case it is not suprisingly that it is the Cowboys. As has already been pointed out they have a very consistent history of these types of events occuring with their players. Quick, think of recent issues with the Patriots, Packers, 49ers, ect... But with the Jones boys, quick...think of 5 recent events with that crew. Pac will not and can not stay out of trouble in that organization. He should have gone to the Broncos or even the Lions to stay out of commisioners office. Way to go Jerry (and Jr.).

Go Bills!

Evan97223 - Lee Evans is our number 1 receiver, not Parrish. Parrish is more of a special teams player.

This is good news for the Chargers. Now when they win the game, people won't be making injury excuses.

This will be the first time I've rooted against the Bill's all year. They are a GOOD team. I'm hoping the chargers bring their "A" game. Go Bolts!!

October 15, 2008  08:15 PM ET

The Bills have been surprisingly good this year. The Bolts have been surprisingly inconsistent...great one game and very poor the next. I was surprised to see one earlier post here claiming that the Chargers have the 32nd rated passing defense in the league. Try as I might, I couldn't find any of the major sports networks that placed SD's passing defense, based on total statistics through 6 games, at anywhere below 22nd. Wonder if that guy is a delusional Bill's fan?

Bottom line...if the Chargers and Bills both bring their A games, Bolts win. If the Bolts come with anything less, the Bills might not even need their own "A" game to win.

October 15, 2008  09:14 PM ET

Right on SanDiegan. And Oceanside too. Very cool, were the same. But realitically, if the Bolts are as fired up as what I hear, they'll be all over Trent. In fact I can see Cromartie intercepting him now. Several times. Sproles and LT both will interject some fierce running and the passing game will go a LONG way if you get my drift. Rivers is going to be HOT just as usual.

This is one game I'm not about to miss. The Bills are good, but guess what Baltys, the buck stops when the Bolts are in town.

Close game: Chargers 20 - Bills 17 (Field goal by Kaeding to end it all).

Sorry Buffalo. I hope you can rebound from the embarrassment of this one. Bolts 53 - Fubbalo's 13

October 15, 2008  09:48 PM ET

Buffalo gave the Chargers a great game last time they played - I remember the D mostly. Very stout. Their offense has improved and the team hasn't been decimated by injuries this season. That said, I'm not sure that they're as good as people say - beating the Rams, Faders, and Seahawks isn't monumental. I think this will be a good measure for both teams, especially if the Chargers decide to show up.

Bills Rule, Chargers Drool!

October 16, 2008  11:16 AM ET

"A" game to "A" game Chargers win offensively, but Bills win defensively and as everyone knows defense wins games not offense. That being said, this is the Bills game to win or loose.

October 16, 2008  02:04 PM ET

This will be the contest of "which team will show" on both sides of the ball. If they both bring their "A" games, it will be a real battle...if one or the other brings their "Oh-gee-we-have-to-play" game, it will be over by halftime.

I think SanDiegan has given a very unbiased look at the game, and I say that as a Bills fan. (I'm assuming he is a Chargers fan ;) Buffalo's been playing with some real grit this season and is fielding an extremely well-balanced team. The Chargers probably have more playmakers, definitely on offense, and maybe on defense as well. But they have not been playing with determination and grit, and they have important weaknesses. So like SanDiegan says, it could easily go either way, depending on who brings their best game.
