This guy is pure class. He also was spotted a few months ago changing the tire of an elderly couple who'd broken down. I also love an athlete who owns more than his share of the blame when a tough loss happens. A throw back to Roger Staubach kind of class.

To those that are being rude and critical of Romo here, I think you're missing the point of most of the posts. It's not so much to glorify him as it is to appreciate the concept of manners and thoughtfulness. How often do you see people avoid the homeless like the plague, or at the very least tell them they don't have any spare money? This was an example of someone with a kind heart, which given his celebrity and wealth is pretty surprising, unfortunately. personally I see this and the other story provided by the recipients of Romo's kindness (not Romo), and I also feel pretty certain there are more stories like these we'll never know about.

Practically speaking, I don't believe I saw anything that reported that the movie was all that Romo did for the gentleman. I see a man in need who told part of a story, but didn't want to give his name. Perhaps he was asked not to mention certain aspects of what happened. Given what seems to be a pattern of behavior from Romo, I would be inclined to presume the best, not the worst.

Aww heck with it! Why don't you chew him out for not buying him a house and a Porsche while you are it! You apparently have no clue about compassion. He made the man feel like he mattered. That is worth more than any one meal. For all you know this guy will turn his life around due to this random act of kindness. Now crawl back under your rock and return when you learn something about compassion Mr. Two Post.

Does Jessica Simpson know about this? Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo went to the movies recently with an individual that wasn't his pop star girlfriend. From DallasNews.com:

A homeless man who goes by Doc was cashing in change at a Cinemark Theatre in Dallas when a guy walked up and offered to pay his way into the movie. He planned to spend his day passing out fliers and accepted a rain check before realizing that he recognized the generous gentleman.

"Was that Tony Romo?" Doc asked the worker behind the counter.

It sure was. Doc, who requested that his real name not be used, hustled across the street to the consignment store that paid him to occasionally pass out fliers and requested the day off. By the time he got back to the theater, Role Model had already started.

Romo, who confirmed the story but didn't want to elaborate, waved Doc over to sit by him and his friend. Doc sheepishly mentioned that he hadn't showered in a few days.

"Don't worry about that," Romo said. "I'm used to locker rooms."

And so the $67 million quarterback and a man who doesn't have $6.70 to his name sat next to each other and shared laughs for 90 minutes or so.
