Roethlisberger is by far one of the most overrated quarterbacks in the league. He benefits from the system he plays in more than any other quarterback. He is not a good passer to begin with, when he even passes at all, and every pass is either play action or shot gun which takes advantage of the defenses lack of ability to cover all the wide receivers or holes in a zone. The only way he can pass is if it's a scramble drill or misdirection. He is a bum and the only reason he is good is because he has a defense and running game.

Thank you, Steeler Nation brothers & sisters. I reviewed game tapes in detail, and overall there were definitely more calls made/not made in favor of the Cards than the Steelers. Wow....I thought it was bad in XL when the snivelling Seahawks fans came out of the woodwork, but Cards fans on blogs are HUGE CRY BABIES who, fortunately, don't matter. Jealousy and pettiness.....plain and simple. GROW UP!!

realtru,

"Ungodly block in the back"?

Try again moron!

The following thread shows a moving clip of the "ungodly" block in question ... and as I said on it (via SixSteelersRings), it was a push on the side of someone's shoulder as he was moving from left to right in front of the opposing player who made the block.

Now if you want to see a REAL "cut and dry blocking from behind that wasn't called" ... check out the following link, and be sure to change the number from 13 to 14 and then 14 to 15.

http://www.lucas-mullen.info/images/xl/cap0013.jpg

Make sure you look at THOSE pics in the series too - then watch that so-called "ungodly block" again kid.

By the way, what about the even MORE blatant block in the back on Breaston's big punt return (also shown on that same Jeep thread) that took place BEFORE Harrison's TD interception return ... that WASN'T called?

Or what about Warner not getting flagged for removing his helmet, which the Steelers WERE called for (on Farrior)?

No complaints about that eh?

Were the refs paid off by the Cards or something?

Now go do us all a favor and fall on something sharp!

PeteBigDouche,

"MVP??? The referees, collectively, were the MVP... They did more to help the Steelers at critical points in the game than *any* player."

Cry louder! It only makes us enjoy the victory MORE.

By the way .. ummm ... how many rings does your team have again?

Yeah, that's what I thought wuss.

Now wouldn't that make for the Steelers having six times the Super Bowl rings that your team has?

Yeah, that's what I thought wuss.

So how does it feel to be able to fit all your team's Super Bowl rings on ONE FINGER?

Yeah, that's what I thought wuss.

Didn't your team pad its defensive stats by playing CRAP teams all year thanks to one of the easiest schedules in the league - for two years in a row?

Yeah, that's what I thought wuss.

And what happened the last time your team with the (cough) "GREAT" defense played the Steelers .. at Soldier Field no less?

Yeah, that's what I thought wuss.

And how many players (including Urlacher) did Bettis run right over on his touchdown run in that game again?

Yeah, that's what I thought wuss.

Now go watch your teams last Super Bowl win ... on a VCR ... in BETAMAX!

And come back when your team is relevant to the NFL again ... that should keep you out of sight for a generation or two.

Ben Roethlisberger's game-winning drive in Super Bowl XLIII was impressive enough by itself. Throw in the fact the Steelers QB said he played the game with a significant injury and his feat is elevated to a new level. From SI.com's Peter King:

Regarding the celebrated ribs: Roethlisberger was speared in the kidney area in the AFC Championship Game. His midsection hurt so much that he had X-rays before the Super Bowl. They were negative. But a subsequent MRI told a different story. He found out last Thursday.

"Fractured ribs,'' Roethlisberger said. "Luckily, in the game, I didn't take any big hits to make 'em hurt. But I knew all along there was something wrong. There wouldn't have been anything they could have done about fractured ribs anyway. It was just suck it up and play.''
