<body>Hi Peter- Good MMQB today. You forgot to mention that Trent Difler is one of the very few QBs to win a Super Bowl. No he didn't do in the style of Bradshaw, Montana, or Brady, but he played the position well. I think some teams and fans really want the flashy QB, but a consistent, low mistake QB serves most true SB contending teams better, as defense, good running, and low qb mistakes wins SBs.

Regards,

Gary - Atlanta</body>

        <body>Oops, I missed one.

&amp;quot; Why no love for the Pro Bowl?&amp;quot; There is no rancor in the competition. Why watch football when nobody is trying in earnest? It is like pro wrestling, only not as cerebral.</body>

        <body>Let's see...

&amp;quot; Will the Dolphins trade or keep the No. 1 pick?&amp;quot; They'll keep it. A team with no pressing needs might trade away a high-dollar draft pick, but I do believe, and this is just my uninformed fan opinion, that the Dolphins may indeed have a pressing need or two.

&amp;quot;Did the Redskins hire the right coach?&amp;quot; I've been a Cowboys fan for 35 years or so. I hope Snyder has made a bad decision, eh? Of course, Snyder hasn't let me down in years... meow.

&amp;quot;A case for Ray Guy in the Hall of Fame.&amp;quot; Is he the dude in Houston who wore the watch? I cannot recall ever being impressed. I have a higher sandard for Canton, I suppose. I generally look at things other than career volumes. If someone plays long enough, they get a lotta high volumes, you see.
Why no love for the Pro Bowl?

&amp;quot;Did the Patriots get robbed?&amp;quot; Well, no, not by the referees, if that is the assertion. Every play of every game has at least one player who could be flagged by a pedantic referee. Any time a team loses a close one, the losers' fans point at two or three calls (or non-calls) to indict the referees. That's been part of the game ever since the first man put on stripes and pocketed a flag.

&amp;quot;OMG TEH BELLICHICK HATH CHEATED US TAKE THE RINGS BACK!!&amp;quot; If I handed the script for every play that I will call to an opposing coach, his players will still have to execute, and even then I may win. Offensive and defensive coaches/playcallers getting an unfair advantage does not guarantee a win. The players have only the advantage of &amp;quot;correct&amp;quot; playcallers, which many teams enjoy 80% of the time anyway. There is no need to punish the Patriots player or fans, even if it turns out that he coaching staff had an unfair advantage in play calling. They should keep the rings, even if it turns out that the coaching staff is culpable for rules breaking.</body>

<body>OK, Let's get this clear. NONE OF THOSE STORIES ARE AS IMPORTANT AS THE PATRIOTS SPYGATE. My gosh, SI is so fricking quiet on this thing. It's GARGANTUAN and no one is writing bunk. Belichick is over. He's gone. The Patriots victories since 2000 worthless. Weis and Crennel are overrrated (didn't take this story to show that). Come ON- speak up SI writers.</body>

<body>Hey, Mr. Statistics, you measure greatness not by statistics, but a players ability to be a difference maker. Ray Guy was the greatest punter in NFL history, bar none. Why do they call it the &amp;quot;Ray Guy&amp;quot; award for the best punter every year. He was concerned with hang time and putting the ball where the receiver could not return it more than distance. He could punt the ball 70 yards if that is what it took but, at that time, the Raiders rarely punted from their own 20. I saw him in person drilling punts like a curve ball and dropping it between the 5 and 10 yard line time and time again. No one came near his ability and it is one of the most shameful acts not to have him in the hall of fame especially when I see them elect members who do not have near his impact on the game.</body>

<body>Amazing how it took over a week before Peter King mentioned the refs poor clock management in the last 2 minutes of the Super Bowl. Peter tries to mention that the Giants had 3 timeouts etc. blah blah blah. The reality is that the Giants scored with 35 seconds left and no timeouts. If Mike Carey had started the clock after Jacobs fourth down run then the Giants wouldn't have had enough time at the end of the game to score a TD. Game over...

In the end though, if a team doesn't want to allow an outcome to depend on a ref then win by a larger margin! The Pats should have dinked and dunked all day long rather than throwing so many deep passes into double coverage. Most of Brady's hits were on deep incompletions. They could have been leading by 18 by the Giants final drive thus eliminating any effect by the refs.</body>
