<body>Here's one I don't expect from anyone else: Michy stadium (did I spell that right?) at West Point. My brother attended and I went to several football and lacrosse games there, usually seated high in the stands so I could see the action on the field, the Hudson River and the castle where they filmed the exteriors for the Wizard of Oz on the other side. Truly a wonderful place to spend an autumn day, even though Army was mediocre on the field at best. (Good thing those boys learned other skills in college!)</body>

<body>I agree with Jack McCallum that Allen Fieldhouse is a special place to see basketball. Not just the history (I remember when it was still a 'field' house, but it is the loudest place I've ever been in.
I also want to mention the east London home of West Ham United, Boleyn Ground. A couple of decades have passed since I was last there and soccer 'hooligans' have done away with the terraces, etc. at many of the old grounds, but the Hammers supporters are still forever blowing bubbles.</body>

<body>I agree with Jack McCallum. Allen Fieldhouse is a special place, the loudest arena I have been in. It mixes well with memories of when it was really a fieldhouse, with dirt under the basketball floor when I was a student.
I also want to mention the east London home of West Ham United, Boleyn Ground. While they are still 'forever blowing bubbles', I think it is sad that soccer hooliganism has led to the demise of the terraces and other changes that have americanized these great old English football stadiums.</body>

<body>Seeing as I'm from Olathe KS, which is maybe 25 min. east of Lawrence KS, I would say that Allen Fieldhouse is my favorite venue. Just being apart of a Jayhawk basketball game is amazing. And there is just so much hisroty and tradition, it feels like a step back in time when you go there. Jack McCallum hit the nail on the head with his article.</body>

<body>Being for Olathe Kansas, maybe 25 min. east of Lawrence, I would have to say my favorite venue would have to be Allen Field House. Just being apart of a game there is unreal. So much history and traition. And Memorial Stadium is a pretty good one too, espiciallty at night.</body>

<body>I read Phil Taylor's memories of Shea Stadium. I couldn't put it any better than that. I remember when my Dad took me to Shea for my very first pro baseball game, the Mets vs. the Cubs in 1966. We wore suits to the game. The players signed autographs. Cal Koonce pitched for the Cubs, he became one of my favorite players a few years later when he was traded to the Mets.
Shea may now be a dump, but it's OUR dump. As the sun sets on it, the planes will still rise over Citi Field and memories of 1969, Seaver, Gil, Cleon and the gang will live on forever.</body>

<body>the fact that the metrodome is not on the list of least favorites can only be explained by the fact that hardly anyone ever goes there. if you love baseball, then you believe there is a special place in hell for the metrodome.</body>
