Aside from Derrick Rose (can't miss) and Michael Beasley (potential superstar, limited height), this draft is full of tweener forwards and combo guards. Most of these picks will probably be compliment players. Definetly a void of big men in this draft, especially with centers like Roy Hibbert showing that they were VERY overrated(which means he should have declared while he was still considered Top 10 last year). Good college players, average draft.

the bulls should pick rose. the PG stabilizes a team and with the difficulty that the bulls had in having a leader, I believe Rose can fill that spot. Rose is far better than Hinrich. Rose is a real PG, with the body to post up smaller guards and the speed to leave behind bigger and slower guards. not to mention the freakish ability that he has. Rose would mesh well with the remaining bulls because he is a team player.

The bulls could then try to trade for a PF likely to be Okafor, Aldrige, Elton Brand. They could package Hinrich with Gooden or Thomas or Gordon to make this work.
They would have a lineup of: PG - Rose
                                               SG - Hughes
                                               SF - Deng
                                               PF - Okafor / Aldridge / Brand
                                                 C - Noah
                                           Bench : Sefolosha / Nocioni / Gray / Gordon / Rookie PG / Thomas

or...

They can make a run for the 2nd pick by trading Hinrich,Nocioni,Thomas + 1st round 2009 or Deng for Miami's 2nd pick and the contract of Mark Blount.
Chicago lineup would be: PG - Rose / SG - Hughes / SF - Beasley / PF - Gooden / C - Noah subs: Rookie PG / Sefolosha / Gordon / Gray / Blount

Miami would then have: PG - Hinrich / SG - Wade / SF - Nocioni / PF Haslem / C - Thomas or Gooden

since miami isnt that interested in beasley supposedly, you take rose with the #1 and trade hinrich and someone else and next years 1st round pick and maybe another 1st round pick three years later for miamis number 2, and you get rose, then draft beasley. With a lineup of at the 1 Rose, 2 Hughes, 3 Deng, 4 Beasley, 5 Noah. With Gordon and tyrus thomas, off the bench and nocioni and hinrich to miami. Even though the bulls would be giving up a lot, they'd have a team set for years, and make they can re-sign rose and beasley. Winning teams have great (or at least above-average guards) with the big men that draw double teams.

1. Michael Beasley
2. Derrick Rose
3. Eric Gordon
4. Brook Lopez
5. Kevin Love

The Bulls need low-post scoring to pair with Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon. Miami needs someone to take the point rather than having Dwayne Wade try to do everything for them. The Timberwolves would be best if they fired McHale and then drafted Eric Gordon. Gordon is a pure-shooter from the outside and still has the toughness to get inside and score as well. Seattle needs someone to take some of the inside game away from Durant. Durant stuggled late in the year because he spent too much time banging down low. Memphis at #5 should take Kevin Love. He is a perfect match to Gay and the gang there. He would be a great replacement for Pau Gasol, now with the Lakers.

I'm calling it right now. Kevin Love will be Christian Leatner all over again. If Memphis believes the hype and drafts him No. 5 overall they are going to be really mad in a few years. They need to draft the best guard available at that point whether its a PG or SG. Al Jefferson is a beast so I think they need a SG with some three point range to open up the inside for Jefferson. Brandon Rush seems to fit that perfectly even though he is predicted to go later in the first round. i like Rush because he played three years in school, is a willing defensive player, overcame the drama associated with his family name and he is a smart player. Rush has the chance to be the Brandon Roy of this draft.

I think Seattle should take DJ Augustine because he is the best TRUE PG in the draft. Rose has some great athleticism, but I think he is a bigger, more athletic version of Tony Parker. Durant and Green need someone who will focus on getting them the ball and running the team, rather than someone that they have to compete with for shots. Also, why would Charlotte draft another PG in the first round when they have Raymond felton already and they have glaring needs at other positions. Any team that drafts Koufos from OSU in the first round is crazy. He has no game game right now. He needed to stay in school. I'm okay with the Brandon Rush prediction for my Cavs because I like him as a player, but I think the Cavs need a true PG and Mario Chalmers and Ty Lawson should both be on the board when the Cavs pick at 18. The Cavs would be better off to draft one of them because Rush is similar to some of the other players already on the roster, but we have no one to run the team. If we get a true PG, then Lebron can concentrate on scoring rather than having to create shots for everyone else, score, rebound, play defense and park cars.

Look guys, we can't argue which position is more essential than the other. We can say PG (Nash, Paul, Parker, etc) and we can also say PF (Duncan, KG, etc), but the fact of the matter is, great players come from all five positions.

Rose was blessed with a lot of talented teammates, may I add that I think Douglas-Roberts is slotted kind of late and would be a steal at the 20s, and he did great things with the ball. But in the title game, he phased in and out and didn't show leadership and that is what seperates Paul, Parker and the others from the average PG.

Beasley, on the other hand, had very little talent on his team. He was a target every game and still managed to put up numbers. But it can be argued that his numbers were great because of the lack of talent and no one else could step up to take the key role so it forced Beasley to shoot until it went in.

Either way, it is a gamble. Off the subject, who thinks Kevin Love can hack it against someone like Duncan or KG?

Thomsen forecasts six freshmen being selected in the top 10, including Kansas State's Michael Beasley to the Bulls and Memphis' Derrick Rose to the Miami Heat at No. 2.

Now that the order is set, what are your thoughts on the draft?
